Spirits of Christmas PAST

It's time for a brand new prompt, ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ and this fortnight we are celebrating all things vintage! As you know, we loooooooove vintage paper and ephemera, and in fact Lauren even built her Etsy Shop, Just Enough Stuff, around it! But for this challenge you needn't have actual OLD stuff; you can use vintage-style products or images; we've also put a few digital scans of some favorite items from Lauren's personal collection at the bottom of this post that you are welcome to test drive! But basically, we just want to see holiday cards using whatever conveys an "old fashioned" vibe to you!

Stephanie says, "I love finding vintage sheet music at estate sales ... especially when it's aged brown & completely falling apart.  I created a background collage using lots of partial pieces of sheet music in various shades of aging and then stamped my image on a vintage receipt book from an Iowa Hardware & Implements store.  I finished with a wrap of twine that I thought worked with the rustic look."

Lauren says, "I'm absolutely in love with this "Small Cabin" die from Impression Obsession, it has exactly the right amount of detail, imo. I've paper pieced it using patterned paper, glitter paper and a bit of vintage sheet music. Then I built a background with a snowy forest illustration from an old Christmas Ideals magazine, more sheet music, some vintage dictionary paper and a bit of lace that I "liberated" from my Mom's sewing room!"

No cool vintage-themed items to use in your own card?
Feel free to right-click, save and print one or both of these:

Would you rather have some "real life" vintage goodies for next time? This week we are sponsored by Lauren's Etsy Shop, Just Enough Stuff, and one lucky, randomly-selected cardmaker who links up with us this fortnight will win this Deluxe Christmas Assortment of paper and ephemera:

Don't forget to link your vintage-inspired creations right here, before 6pm (EST) on Wednesday, August 30th. Keyword for galleries and Flickr is JB:17:17.

  3. Yay! So happy I managed to play along this fortnight. I am always struggling to create Vintage cards, but usually end up surprising myself when I try. Must try and remember that lol.
