Sketching Superstars

We loved all of the wonderful takes on the oh-so-great sketch from Allison Fillo ... here are a few we chose as Sketching Superstars.

Sarah T from Aunt Bee's Pickles

featured these fabulously colored *jingle balls* (seriously, how could we pass on jingle balls) ... love the crocheted embellishment too.

Jose from Jose's Scrapboat

combined three different monochromatic papers with this adorable little reindeer ... love that red nose and how the little bit of white around him makes him pop against the patterned background.

Peggy McCurry of Artfull Journey

featured the pretty queen of hearts dressed in her finest holiday gown ... gorgeous shading on the poinsettia ... and the perfect touch of Christmas sparkle.

And the randomly drawn winner of a little holiday goodie package is .... (drum roll) ...

Kim M of Art Keeps Me Sane

Kim - e-mail us your mailing address & we'll get your goodies in the mail.

And join us at midnight for another fun holiday card challenge (and perhaps yet another chance to win some awesome goodies).

A Sketching We Will Go

We're back for another week of fun Sketch Cards ... with our lovely layout brought to us by Allison Fillo.

Here's our second take on the sketch design:

Stephanie's Other Card

Stephanie says, "I went monochromatic with Pantone's Emerald, one of the Spring 2013 fashion colors.  I used Snowflakes & Peace Stamp from Crafter's Compaion together with some big emerald bling."

Lauren's Other Card

Lauren says, "In addition to having a *FABULOUS* sketch, there's nothing more fun than having new goodies to tap into when looking for inspiration, is there? I got some awesome bargains during Crafty Steals' "Christmas in July"; here I'm test-driving my new Pink Paislee diecut banner shapes and a Studio Calico Journaling card, mixed together with papers, rub-ons and twine from my stash!"

Jingle Sketch

Yep, this week's we're getting sketchy with one of our favorite lovely guest stars ... the talented and always amusing Allison Fillo.

Allison manages a team of writers, trainers and curriculum developers by day and wild jackals by night (aka her children Tristan, Charlotte & Avery).  When she does get to venture into her craft room, she enjoys cardmaking, scrapbooking, and designing periodic sketch challenges for lucky souls like us at Jingle Belles.

Love this sketch:

And here's what we created:

Allison's Card

Allison combined some of our favorite wonky snowman paper with pretty holiday ribbon, snowflakes and happy polka dots ... so festive and fun.

Stephanie's Card

Stephanie says, "I cut into some of my favorite papers from My Mind's Eye I Believe Collection to start my card.  When I attached my top panel to my card base, I realized it was wider than I wanted, so rather than throw it away, I flipped the sketch moving my Hero Arts sentiment to the top for better balance.  I love my new little Sweet Petites Bells from Die-versions."

Lauren's Card

Lauren says, "I constructed my card using scraps, which just happened to look better on the horizontal than the vertical, so I took Allison's gorgeous sketch and went W*I*D*E with it! The diecut poinsettias were also leftovers, so I let them dictate my choice of accent colors. a little vintage sheet music, a scrap of lace, some machine stitching to make sure ALL the layers stay put... et voila!"

And now we cannot wait to see what you create using Allison's fabulous holiday sketch ... we hope you have fun creating.  Make sure you link-up here before 6pm (EST) on Wednesday, September 11th. Keyword for the Jingle Belles Flickr Group (and other galleries) is JB:13:18.

And we'll even send a few little Christmas goodies to one lucky participant.
