Wrap Stars!

We're so happy to see so many Jingle Belles veterans coming back to hang out with us in 2020, and we're also pleased to make some new friends as well. We had a feeling you guys would make AWESOME greetings from leftover bits and bobs and you definitely did not disappoint. Here are a few giftwrap-centric cards which caught our eye this fortnight!

Beverly Sizemore of Bev's Creative Path

...saved a piece of giftwrap that not only had this fabulous Santa, but also an uber-cute penguin AND a festive reindeer. And *YES* she made all three into cards; so you should probably click the link and see the others!

Donna of Keep Calm and Snark On

...rescued this adorable penguin from a gift bag that was headed for the 2019 recycling pile. We're so glad he gets the starring role in a 2020 holiday card!

Jenni of Wish I was Scrappin'

...saved this beautiful plaid tissue paper and two styles of diecut tags (the second set are presents, you should go and see) to start the year off with FOUR cards already done!

And of course we're all longing to know who will be inking up that fabulously fun Lawn Fawn stamp set, aren't we? The fine folks at Random.org say it's

WRAP It Up... I'll Take It!

Meanwhile, here's what we made this week:

Lauren's Other Card(s)

Lauren says, "I made two very similar cards this week. Both feature three types of giftwrap: the snowman was fussy-cut from one pattern; (with a second layer of scarves, hats and carrot noses... since one nice thing about giftwrap is the repeating pattern!) the red snowflakes are a second variety and the white snowflakes are tissue paper which I fused to a piece of Xyron-ed cardstock so it would be sturdy enough to diecut into snowy hills. Sticker sentiments, a little machine stitching and a few Eyelet Outlet Snowflake Brads and Jewels finish off both designs." 

Stephanie's Other Card

Stephanie says, "Since I started card-making, a key element in choose wrapping paper is answering the question ... could I make a card with that (because at our house we pride ourselves in collecting things that have more than one purpose).  When I saw these cute little framed critters, I knew this holiday wrapping paper made the cut.  I mean seriously ... how cute is that fox with the figgy pudding and the reindeer in a sweater.  I added a double wrap of twine and a Gina K. Designs Sentiment to finish the card on a kraft card base."

No Time Like the Presents

So, there is No Time Like the Presents... before you put away your wrapping supplies, pull out some of your favorites (or some of that paper from a present you unwrapped that was just too pretty to recycle) and make a card featuring wrapping paper or gift tags.

Here's what we made:

Stephanie's Card

Stephanie says, "Lauren not only wrapped my gifts in this adorable Yeti wrapping paper ... she also gave me a few sheets she Xyron'd to cardstock, so I could detail cut out all of these adorable picture frames to make a Yeti Family Christmas homage ... since the background of the wrapping paper was red, I used one of my *solid* red/blue Gel Press prints for my card base.  A few sticker sentiments and a pearl for little girl yeti's flower in her hair finish the design."

Lauren's Card

Lauren says, "My friend Barb sent me a very pretty present wrapped in beautiful matte giftwrap which had these snow-dusted evergreens on it, and the minute I saw it, I started figuring out how to get the paper off without tearing or wrinkling it! There was a pretty big crease at the left edge, which I decided to cover with collagey bits. These include a serendipitous scrap from a French language children's book which says "The Christmas Tree"; some beautifully patina-ed sheet music and some of the amazing 1957 Christmas Seals my mom found at a thrift shop. The red glitter mat is another piece of careful unwrapping."
