Singing in Harmony

So much to sing about in the "Hark the Herald Angels" gallery, if you haven't seen all the cards we heartily recommend a stroll through that garden of inspiration! Here are a few which we especially loved this time:

...incorporated collaged sheet music in her beautiful topper and lent an elegant touch with lots of glorious golden mats!

...was afraid the "trifecta" of challenges she combined to make this beautiful card might have been one too many; an opinion with which we respectfully --but totally-- disagree!!!

...combined soft but elegant metallic touches with that subtle but awesome embossed sheet music fragment to create a card that is so much more than the sum of its parts!

Many thanks to everyone who played along, we really did love EVERY single card! Meanwhile, we'll be back at midnight with a brand new prompt we hope you won't think is, "for the birds"! :)

Fa-La-La-La-Laaaaaaaaaaaa!

We're still singing a happy holiday song and making music-inspired cards and you still have time to join the fun! Here's what we made this week:

Stephanie says, "Fa La La La Latte ... my card features a wood mounted rubber stamp from 1998 ... lattes never lose their charm.  I paired it with sheet music from a Sonatina Music Book (in my piano lesson days, Sonatinas were my favorites).  I finished with a wrap of chocolate twine."

Lauren says, "I found a sheet of absolutely ancient "Love, Elsie" brown and pink sheet music patterned paper from KI Memories and thought it would be weird-but-wonderful with my absolute favorite holiday line from 2018, Prima's "Santa Baby". I stand by that decision! I re-used this Sweet Sunday Sketch from 2015 because i thought the diagonal mat was so clever and distinctive. I fitted a slightly cut down and matted journal card on top of the cool trapezoid shape, embellished with a bit of washi, et voila! A couple of Eyelet Outlet fancy gems and a chipboard sentiment complete this flat(ish) and mail-friendly design."

Hark the Herald Angels Sing!

By which we mean, this fortnight we are making cards that incorporate music notes, sheet music or instruments. Because everybody loves holiday music, right? Well, maybe not *everybody* but we sure do! Here are this week's card creations:

Lauren says, "As you can see, I went with the sheet music option, in the form of a diecut heart which holds my adorable Doodlebug Design Xmas stickers. My sentiment is a bonus song title, snipped from a journal card. Lots of traditional bright red and green here, finished off with some white machine stitching accents."

Stephanie's Card

Stephanie says, "I started with some wrapping paper featuring lovely hand-drawn score.  I added a scrap of sheet music paper and some caroling snowman to complete my musical theme.  My sentiment is from Concord & 9th Joyful Noel and was trimmed perfectly with my My Sweet Petunia Cut-Align."
