Pink for the Cure!

Congratulations and thank you, Jingle Belles! You guys made sixty-two (62!) gorgeous PINK CHRISTMAS cards, and with a donation of $4 per card ($2 each from Stephanie and Lauren) that means we've raised $248 for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, WOOHOO! ♥♥♥ Not only was the quantity of cards outstanding (we SEE YOU, multiple-card-linkers and we're so grateful!) but so was the quality: each and every card was gorgeous and we could not be more impressed. Traditionally, though, we just choose three for the shout outs, and we're gonna do that now; but we highly recommend your taking time to scroll through the entire readers' gallery, we're sure you'll be as inspired as we are!

...definitely understood the assignment and rocked every phase of this gorgeous card. From the inky ombre background to the sweet paper-piece snow-woman to the gorgeous musical staff and lyrics, we could not love this more!

...created the most adorable pink bird, in a pink scarf, landing on a pink snowbank, in a field of pink Christmas trees, topped with a pink sentiment tag, sporting a pink bow. Be still our pink-loving hearts!!!!!!

...is a wonderful, long-time supporter of both Jingle Belles and Pink Christmas, whose work we always love seeing; this year she's made ELEVEN pink cards, including this one, plus three more with similar, gorgeously inky artful backgrounds... that were leftover from a previous Pink Christmas card-making extravaganza! (WOW!

♥♥♥

Once again, we thank everyone who participated with such enthusiasm; LOTS of you linked multiple cards and rest assured we have counted and appreciated every single one. The Pink Christmas festivities may be over for this year, but of course we'll be back at midnight with a brand new prompt we hopw will prove there's no business like SNOW business!!! ;)

PINK Christmas (Week 2)

It's the second week of Pink Christmasthe annual event where we ask YOU to make and link up as many predominantly PINK holiday cards as you possibly can, because WE (Stephanie and Lauren) are each going to donate $2 per card to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation! So how can you participate? Just make as many new cards as you'd like, each with a winter holiday theme, which feature PINK prominently. Then link them at the original Pink Christmas Post ... directly beneath this one. Easy peasy!

Here's how we celebrated PINK Christmas this week:

Lauren says, "This week I'm secretly a bit proud that I haven't actually used ANY official Christmas/holiday product! In fact, all of the papers (except the background) were from my scrap box. The adorable narwhal is an older Doodlebug 3D Doodle-pops Sticker and the little fishes plus the hearts were part of the set. I made the sentiment using some older Lawn Fawn alphabet dies and my trusty Dymo Labelmaker."

Stephanie says, "This week I started my Pink card with the On His Way Bella-Pop sticker of Santa in his fun little decked out Pink car and built my card around it.  used a Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders die cut for my snow and attached it to a piece of pink ombre cardstock from Scrapbook.com Ombre Patterned Paper.  I attached the car & the accompanying cloud stickers and finished with a sentiment from Kristina Werner Winter Greenery."

♥♥♥♥♥

We'd love for you to join us in celebrating PINK CHRISTMAS and of course it's for a very good cause, so start making and linking those PINK holiday cards today! JB2521: I'm Dreaming of a PINK Christmas runs until 6pm (Eastern) on Wednesday, October22nd.

I'm Dreaming of a PINK Christmas

It's the first week of October and thus it's time for PINK CHRISTMAS at Jingle Belles; the annual event where we ask YOU to make and link up as many predominantly PINK holiday cards as you possibly can, because WE (Stephanie and Lauren) are each going to donate $2 per card to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation!

So what qualifies as a PINK CHRISTMAS card? It's pretty simple: the cards should be newly made, with a winter holiday theme, and they should feature PINK prominently. Does your whole card have to be pink? Certainly not. Can you combine other colors with the pink? Of course!

Should you have more pink than say two or three baubles on your green tree set against a snowy white background? Well, yes... that would be good, lol. But other than that, we'll leave it to you to decide how much pink, what shade, and how to employ it! Can you link up more than one PINK CHRISTMAS card? Yes, indeed, please do!

Here's what we made this week:

Stephanie says, "I started by cutting 3/8" strips from my collection of bright pink GelliArts prints and attaching them to a thin piece of white cardstock.  Next I stamped on top of the painted strips with Gina K. Designs Merry Everything and cut out the tree.  I cut two more trees from the strips edging the triangles with pink ink and attached them to a light pink GelliArts print using the October Sketch from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.  I finished with a sentiment from the same stamp set and added a silver star on top of the tree."

Lauren says, "I've recently remembered how much I love the technique of adding salt to a wet panel of watercolor; it makes a pattern/texture similar to Jack Frost painting our windows in the winter. This panel looked so pretty that I didn't want to cover it up very much; thus I only added some Wendy Vecchi holly leaves (from last year's Christmas Add-On to her Not Your Ordinary Card Collection) cut from two luscious shades of self-adhesive felt paper; plus a few Eyelet Outlet Snowflake Brads and tiny Pearl Bling. A dark pink mat and a bit of machine stitching complete my A6 card design."

Pretty in Pink

Many thanks to EVERYONE who made and linked PINK CHRISTMAS cards for the cure! This year, counting the "extra" cards linked up inside various posts, we amassed a total of 58 PINK CHRISTMAS CARDS, and since Stephanie and Lauren are donating two dollars (each!) per card, that means we'll be making a donation of $232.00 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation! Thank you for helping us do that! Apart from the fund-raising aspect, this fortnight saw some of the most beautiful cards of the year as well, making it even harder than usual to choose just three, but here, in no particular order, are a trio which particularly caught our eye:

...created a beautiful, eye-catching, unconventional holiday tree shape from gorgeously colored PINK mushrooms that we just cannot stop staring at!

...used an incredibly clever reverse-masking tutorial to create a truly lovely wreath in several shades of pink within a single layer of cardstock for a card that's as impressive as it is pretty!

...went BOLD with several vivid shades of pink, gold embossing, pressure embossing, distressing and... well, every time we look at this beauty we see something new to love!

♥♥♥

We are truly grateful and appreciative to EVERYONE who took time to make cards, link them, and even go round and leave some love for your fellow Jingle Belles. Thank you so much for making this our favorite challenge of the year! We will be back at midnight with a brand new prompt we hope will have lots of lovely cardmakers FLOCKING around to participate! ;)

Pink Christmas: Week 2

It's the second week of our gala PINK CHRISTMAS celebration here at Jingle Belles, in which we're asking YOU to make holiday cards that are predominantly pink... and WE will donate to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for each card that gets linked up! Visit the original PINK CHRISTMAS post directly below this one for all the details as well as the Linky Tool to add your cards.

Meanwhile, here's what we made this week:

Lauren says, "This week I raided my happy little stash of Doodlebug Design papers, journal tags and stickers to make this sweet (in every sense, lol) little card that's mostly pink... with touches of tan gingerbread and reindeer; as well as some fun green Christmas tree cookies. I used an ancient pink background paper with a strong horizontal element to it, which made lining up the decorative strips super-easy!"

Stephanie's Other Card

Stephanie says, "Since all of my pink designer paper scraps were still out on my table, I decided to combine three of them for this week's card.  I topped the papers with a fun pink Baking Spirits Bright Doodle-Pop from Doodlebug Designs.  I finished with a perfect AMuse sentiment and some pink glittery enamel dots."

♥♥♥♥♥

Link your gorgeous PINK CHRISTMAS creations (because YES, you definitely can make as many as you'd like!) on the original post which is directly below this one. This challenge (#JB2421) runs until 6pm (Eastern) on Wednesday, October 23rd.

PINK CHRISTMAS (For the Cure!)

It's that time again here at Jingle Belles, our favorite prompt of the year: PINK CHRISTMAS! In which you make and link new holiday cards that are predominantly PINK and we (Stephanie and Lauren) donate $2 (apiece!) per card to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Just to anticipate a few basic questions: Yes, you can link as many cards as you'd like to; and no, your cards don't need to be entirely PINK but it should certainly be the main color! You can use any additional colors that you'd like; and the cards can be any size, shape, theme and style.

Sound good? Then without further ado, here are our PINK CHRISTMAS cards:

Stephanie's Card

Stephanie says, "I went shopping in my designer paper scraps and pulled out every pink paper I could find (including one of my own inky sprayed papers).  I cut 3/8" strips to cover my card front.  I finished with a fun Doodlebug Designs tag that I matted with a thin white frame to make it pop a bit more against that busy background."

Lauren says, "I am currently obsessed with Wendy Vecchi's NOT Your Ordinary Card Collection from Spellbinders, so for this card I broke out the Christmas Add-On Stamp and Die Set and used the triple holly leaf die to very quickly cut lots of layers from textured pink cardstock; which I then inked and stacked, in two five-petal layers for each flower, into poinsettias, finishing off with the three berry cluster at the center, and finally a few tiny stick-on pearls plus a few cuts of the beautiful, delicate greenery die. I used the sentiment stamps from the set and a Build-a-Plaid background made with the second smallest stencil and Pink Peony Archival. A little bit of lace, some darker pink mats and a bit of machine stitching and I was good to go! There's a little more detail about the making of the poinsettias and the use of the Build-a-Plaid Stencils on my blog."

Pretty in Pink

Once again we are floored by how many amazing and wonderful PINK CHRISTMAS cards you guys have linked up with us... when we added up the "extras" that you guys added into your posts there was a total of *50* so that when each of us (Stephanie and Lauren) donate $2 per card we've managed to raise $200 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation! THANK YOU so much for making that happen! It's even more difficult than usual to choose just a few featured cardmakers (please know that we loved EVERY card in the Readers' Gallery!) but here are three that especially caught our eye:

...built an entire monochomatic scene (in PINK, naturally) to show off her newest, most adorable Memory Box holiday goodies!

...proves that you can "PINK-ify" a traditional color scheme of red and green by adding touches of pink when coloring, stamping and adding embellies!

...made two amazingly vibrant PINK clean and simple cards which we adore; this one was second in her post and thus you'll not have seen it in the Gallery, but it counts towards our total!

♥♥♥

Many thanks to everyone who played along, we always appreciate your participation, but never more so than for this event each October. If you haven't checked out all the cards, we highly recommend a visit to the Readers' PINK CHRISTMAS Gallery AND that you click through to the actual posts, because, as we said, there are extra cards!

We will, of course, be back at midnight with a brand new prompt, though, as we move into the endo of October and Halloween approaches our Jingle Belles alumni mayyyyyyy have an inkling of what's in store... :)

♥ Pink Christmas... for the Cure! ♥

We're still celebrating our annual Pink Christmas for the Cure by creating PINK Christmas Cards for the cure this week where Stephanie & Lauren will each donate $2 to Breast Cancer Research Foundation for every card that gets linked-up.

Here are our PINK creations for this week:

Lauren says, "This week I raided my stash of supercute Doodlebug Candy Cane Lane stickers and made a fun little snowglobe scene. I re-used that pretty pink snowflake wrapping paper for the sky and cut into some well-hoarded Lawn Fawn Knit Picky paper to make the background. I think the sentiment sticker might be ancient Prima, but as it was in the "orphaned" sticker envelope, I'm not entirely sure."

Stephanie says, "Doodlebug Designs always comes through with fun pink holiday paper creations.  I cut the little tags from one of the pieces of paper from the Candy Cane Lane Collection using a sketch from the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Challenge with a stamped sentiment from Impress Cards & Crafts."

Here's what we made this week:

Stephanie's PINK CHRISTMAS Card

Stephanie says, "My sweet sister-in-law gifted me with these adorable Tim Holtz Christmas Cartoon stamps (which remind me a bit of vintage Calvin and Hobbes), so I couldn't resist stamping them in Catherine Pooler Party Dress Pink on a pink card base.  I used a light pink marker to ground the images."

Lauren says, "I built my card around my favorite pink ink: Wendy Vecchi's Rosey Posey Archival from Ranger, so it seemed like a good idea to also break out the gorgeous poinsettia from Wendy's awesome Doodle Christmas stamp set. I gold embossed the blooms and used a waterbrush filled with Isopropyl Alcohol to paint them with the aforesaid Rosey Posey and Leaf Green. I added Sunflower Liquid Pearls to the centers and made a larger flower cluster on top of a background featuring a scrap of ancient Prima pink plaid paper, torn sheet music and a few strips of washi tape. I have literally no idea where that little sentiment sticker came from, but it was the perfect size and shape, so on it went!"

Pretty in Pink!

Many thanks to everyone who played along with our PINK CHRISTMAS challenge, not only were your cards incredible, you've helped us raise $200.00* for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and we're very happy about that. Round of applause, please, for all the cardmakers!

It's always very difficult to only choose three feature cards for our "Shout Out" posts, but when it comes to PINK CHRISTMAS it's nearly impossible; because EVERY card is pink perfection! Nevertheless, here are a few that caught our eye:

Cindy Chiu of Escape to Stamping

...combined patterned paper, embossing paste and diecut trees in FIVE luscious shades of pink to make a soft, dreamy card that we just can't stop looking at!

...proved that a gnome can easily carry a "tall" card if he's got enough personality; we're awarding bonus points for the fact that she's also used actual PINK RIBBON in her design!

...used an incredibly lovely 3D embossing folder to make not one but two versions of her stunning pink poinsettia card; we can't possibly pick a favorite, though the sentiment on this one sums up PINK CHRISTMAS perfectly!

♥♥♥

Once again our gratitude to everyone who played along, we loved seeing ALL of your cards and we especially love that it helped us raise money for a cause that's near and dear to our hearts. We'll be back at Midnight with a new prompt that our October veterans miiiiiiiight just be able to guess at...?

♥♥♥

*In addition to the 35 links, we had extra cards from Loll, Bonnie and Patrice which means we counted 42 cards times $4 ($2 per card from both Lauren and Stephanie) which totals $168, which is an excellent if slightly odd number, so obviously we had to round up a tiny bit! :)

♥ Pink Christmas... for the Cure! ♥

This week we're still creating PINK holiday cards to support breast cancer research ... and for each one linked-up, Lauren & Stephanie will each donate $2.00 per card to Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Remember, you can link as many times as you'd like, but the majority of each card should be pink; and they do need to be newly made; so please no back-linking to cards made prior to the challenge.

Here's how we went PINK this week:

Lauren says, "Prima's new holiday line, Candy Cane Lane, is coming soon to my LSS, Paper Anthology. Luckily, I was allowed to sneak a few of the gorgeous papers a teeny bit early, so I could use them for week two of PINK CHRISTMAS! This Santa's face miiiiiight be my favorite image in the line, though the whole collection is so adorable, it's hard to just pick one. I did some tearing, some fussycutting, some distressing and layered on flowers, ribbon and White Lace Tape for extra interest. Would it be wrong to send this one to myself in December??!"

Stephanie says, "I went with a different Doodlebug Collection this week - Night Before Christmas.  I paired three different papers from the collection with the Layout from Sketch Saturday."

I'm Dreaming of a PINK Christmas

If you've played along with us in prior years, you may already know that at ♥JINGLE BELLES♥ we always devote the first theme of each October to making pink holiday cards as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and that for each card that gets linked up, we each (Stephanie and Lauren) donate two dollars to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

There aren't many rules for this challenge other than the fact that each card has to be newly made, it has to have a winter holiday theme, and it has to feature PINK prominently.

We're pretty low key about self-promotion around here, but this cause is near and dear to our hearts and we'd love to get GREAT participation, so be sure to tell all your cardmaking friends, and feel free to share the official graphic and our link on your blog or social media.

Here's how we created with PINK this week:

Stephanie says, "I used papers from one of my all time favorite pink holiday collections, Doodlebug Winter Wonderland.  I used a sketch from Try Stampin' (or Not) on Tuesday and a tiny little A Muse sentiment to finish my card."

Lauren says, "It's no secret that I love pink at any time of year, especially at Christmas, so I had plenty of readymade items from which to choose: an ancient pink My Mind's Eye chipboard tree, diecut poinsettia layers from leftover patterned papers, an Eyelet Outlet Pink Pearl Brad and Enamel Dots, a shimmery stripey border sticker, and kraft paper with pink polka dots that is so old I don't know whence it came!"

Pretty in Pink!

Wow! The cards for the Pink Christmas challenge are always some of our favorites, but this year you guys have totally taken things to the next level and we could not be more impressed! We'll shout out to a few of those in a minute, but first some important bookkeeping: There were 59 cards linked up (counting the extras that kind folks added into their posts!) and 59 x $4 means that we will be contributing $236 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation! Thanks very much for helping us, and for doing it so creatively! Meanwhile, here are a few Pink Christmas cards that especially caught our eye:

...created her pretty pink confection that combines everything we love on a card: beautiful papers, sparkly diecuts and satin ribbons!

...made a beautifully artful background with alcohol inks, and found the sweetest mouse imaginable (with jingle bells!) to be the star of her adorable tag!

...made a sophisticated and elegant nature-themed card with perfect pink accents!

♥♥♥

Many thanks to everyone who played along, we truly loved seeing EVERY card and are thankful for EVERY dollar you helped us raise for the BCRF. We'll be back at Midnight with a brand new prompt that we hope will stir up your creativity!

Think PINK!

It's another week of PINK creations to support Breast Cancer Research. Remember, for every predominantly PINK holiday card you link-up in the post directly below this one, Stephanie & Lauren will each donate $2 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (and just a reminder to do those self-exams and get your annual Mammogram).

Here's how we created in PINK this week.

Stephanie says, "The Santa Baby papers from Prima are some of the most lovely holiday papers. I used them (together with one vertical piece from Dress My Craft Christmas Bells).  I used the layout from The Sketchy Challenges to put it all together.  The finishing touches were some pink enamel dots and some gold sticker strips."

Lauren says, "This week's card was as fast to make as last week's Pink Couch card was slow! After I made a design of seven or eight miscellaneous washi tapes featuring every shade of pink and red in my collection and topped it with pink poinsettias from MME's (older) Sugar Plum collection, all I needed was an anonymous diecut sentiment, a few Eyelet Outlet Glitter Enamel Dots and a bit of machine stitching, et voila!"

Pretty in Pink!

Thank you so much to everyone who linked up with us for PINK CHRISTMAS, we had an astonishing total of SIXTY-FOUR cards, and with a $2 donation from each of us (Stephanie and Lauren) that means you helped us raise $256.00 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Apart from raising money for an awesome cause, PINK CHRISTMAS is always the occasion for some of the most beautiful and creative cards of our entire Jingle Belles season, and that was definitely the case again this year. If you haven't cruised through the gallery yet, we highly recommend the trip. Meanwhile, here are just a few PINK cards we especially loved:

Swissie aka Liv

...paired soft pink with vivid Christmas green and touches of white, on her fresh and fabulous card. Plus... we looooove that ice skate!

Dotty Jo of Just a Dotty Pudding

...made two beautiful pink cards; it was almost impossible to decide which was our favorite... except... this one has an ombre pink sky and cats in sweaters!!! :)

...pretty much had us at PINK sheet music! But then she added in the perfect vellum sentiment and those adorable birds, learning their new song; we couldn't resist!

Many thanks to everyone who played along, we really appreciate it, and we loved seeing EVERY card! We'll be back at Midnight with a brand new prompt which we hope will stir up some fun!

♥ Pink Christmas... for the Cure! ♥

We're still dreaming of a PINK Christmas for a Cure.

Remember, for each card linked-up Lauren and I will both be donating $2 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation ... a cause near and dear to both our hearts.

Here is how we went PINK this week.

Lauren says, "I've paired a copy of an all-pink illustration from a vintage Ideals Christmas magazine with some well-hoarded stripey pink paper from Basic Grey; added Eyelet Outlet Sequins, an oversized bloom and a sticker sentiment and called it a day. Kind of a funky mix, but I like how it turned out."

Stephanie says, "I actually dreamed about this card ... creating a background with strips of all of the pink cardstock scraps in my stash.  I added a circle, two stickers, some white embellishments and the perfect sentiment from Essentials by Ellen Mondo Holly."

Here is how we went PINK for Christmas this year.

Stephanie says, "I've been saving this gorgeous Pink Christmas Collection from Stamperia for this prompt ... the papers are so pretty, the card almost made itself.  I used the Sketch Saturday layout and some plastic snowflake buttons as embellishments."

Lauren says, "I went almost entirely Prima, because they've done some really awesome PINK holiday collections in the last few years. I do have a big PINK poinsettia liberated from a bit of holiday garland, and it wouldn't be the holidays without some Eyelet Outlet Snowflake Bling! I also used this week's Sketch Saturday #630 to arrange my layout; though I've rotated it ninety degrees counterclockwise."
