I Don't See Any Kings...

It's true there are actually no kings whatsoever to be found in this post which is makes this fortnight's prompt, "We Three Kings" a bit mysterious, doesn't it? In fact, we are focusing on the *THREE* aspect. We'd like to see cards with three reindeer or three trees or three... well... something on them! This is one of those times when a picture is worth a thousand (and three!) words, so here's what we made this week:

Lauren says, "I started with THREE adorable Doodlebug tags. I intended to add THREE Eyelet Outlet Brads (one on each tag) but the obvious choice for the reindeer was a set of antlers which brought the total to four, thus scuppering that; and anyway, the star is an enamel sticker. I settled for THREE border stickers behind the tags and finished off with THREE red snowflakes. I'd love to say I finished this at THREE pm... but... really it was more like 8:30, lol."

Stephanie says, "No Kings here either ... but I do have three shiny Reinbeer.  I always have to use this fun Reinbeer set from Your Next Stamp at least once each year for one of the many beer-lovers on my Christmas Card List.  I used the Sketch from The Paper Players with the googly eyes and red nose being the top trio and the Christmas Trees for the bottom trio row.  Love these little guys."

Thank You, Santa Claus!

It's always awesome not only to see what our fellow Jingle Belles got from Santa, but also the super-creative ways they are already using those goodies! Here are a few cards that especially caught our eye this fortnight:

...used her new stamp and embossing powders to dramatic effect on her gorgeous CAS card.

Presents Under the Tree

We're still celebrating the gifts that Santa brought us (or maybe just maybe the gifts you bought yourself) for Christmas.  Create a card using something in your studio that is brand new.

Stephanie says, "In my Santa Lauren Stocking were these adorable little chipboard bingo cards (I strategically placed floral embellishments to cover the numbers).  I paired two adorable little Sprites with the Merry & Bright Sentiment.  I used the floral elements surrounding the Merry & Bright to inspire my design choices.  Card Base Paper is from Bella Boulevard Santa Squad."

Lauren says, "My friend 'Santa Gina' found some absolutely AMAZING washi tape, including these two winter-themed varieties, so I built them into a a sort of custom patterned paper by repeating them at intervals on a piece of sheet music backed with plain cardstock to make it a little more robust. I paired it with some older Lawn Fawn paper I got at Paper Anthology, which features similar colors and also has cuuuute critters!"

Remember you have until 6pm EST on Wednesday, January 29th to share your cards made with all your new schtuff.

Look What Santa Brought Me!

This fortnight at we're giving you a chance to show off the fabulous new crafty gifts you acquired over the holidays. Or, if you were somehow (mistakenly, of course!) on the naughty list, you can swap in something you treated yourself to in the January sales; or even just an item you've had for a bit but not yet used. Sound like fun? Yeah, we thought so too!

Here's what we made:

Lauren says, "My friend Gina knew that I *LOVED* 2018's "Jingle" collection from Authentique, and that I'd be super-excited to revisit it; she found a complete set that even had the cardstock stickers and punch-outs! So my plan for this week was basically to use as much of it as possible on one A7 card and I have achieved that goal. I've got an oversized journal card, two punch-outs and one style of patterned paper; which I supplemented with red glitter and shimmer cardstocks, plus a few elderly white gems which sort of suggested snow to me!"

Stephanie's Card

Stephanie says, "Since I am my own Santa, I got exactly what I wanted for Christmas ... like these stamps from new releases at Reverse Confetti.  I just loved the Candy Canes with Holly (colored with Spectrum Noir Markers) from Reverse Confetti Joys of the Season ... and I even took the time to let some red Stickles dry on the Holly Berries (yep, I'm normally a very impatient crafter).  Sentiment is from the limited edition Reverse Confetti Snowflakes.  I found some fun candy cane paper in my stash and finished with a wrap of candy cane twine."

Wrap Stars!

We're so happy to see so many Jingle Belles veterans coming back to hang out with us in 2020, and we're also pleased to make some new friends as well. We had a feeling you guys would make AWESOME greetings from leftover bits and bobs and you definitely did not disappoint. Here are a few giftwrap-centric cards which caught our eye this fortnight!

...saved a piece of giftwrap that not only had this fabulous Santa, but also an uber-cute penguin AND a festive reindeer. And *YES* she made all three into cards; so you should probably click the link and see the others!

...rescued this adorable penguin from a gift bag that was headed for the 2019 recycling pile. We're so glad he gets the starring role in a 2020 holiday card!

...saved this beautiful plaid tissue paper and two styles of diecut tags (the second set are presents, you should go and see) to start the year off with FOUR cards already done!

And of course we're all longing to know who will be inking up that fabulously fun Lawn Fawn stamp set, aren't we? The fine folks at Random.org say it's

WRAP It Up... I'll Take It!

We're still making holiday cards with leftover bits of giftwrap and tags and you're still invited to join the fun! Scroll down to link up on the original post; also I thiiiiiink there just might've been a fun little prize this fortnight...

Meanwhile, here's what we made this week:

Lauren says, "I made two very similar cards this week. Both feature three types of giftwrap: the snowman was fussy-cut from one pattern; (with a second layer of scarves, hats and carrot noses... since one nice thing about giftwrap is the repeating pattern!) the red snowflakes are a second variety and the white snowflakes are tissue paper which I fused to a piece of Xyron-ed cardstock so it would be sturdy enough to diecut into snowy hills. Sticker sentiments, a little machine stitching and a few Eyelet Outlet Snowflake Brads and Jewels finish off both designs.

Stephanie says, "Since I started card-making, a key element in choose wrapping paper is answering the question ... could I make a card with that (because at our house we pride ourselves in collecting things that have more than one purpose).  When I saw these cute little framed critters, I knew this holiday wrapping paper made the cut.  I mean seriously ... how cute is that fox with the figgy pudding and the reindeer in a sweater.  I added a double wrap of twine and a Gina K. Designs Sentiment to finish the card on a kraft card base."

Remember, you have until 6pm EST on Wednesday the 15th to link-up your card for a chance to win this week's prize.

No Time Like the Presents

So, there is No Time Like the Presents... before you put away your wrapping supplies, pull out some of your favorites (or some of that paper from a present you unwrapped that was just too pretty to recycle) and make a card featuring wrapping paper or gift tags.

Here's what we made:

Stephanie says, "Lauren not only wrapped my gifts in this adorable Yeti wrapping paper ... she also gave me a few sheets she Xyron'd to cardstock, so I could detail cut out all of these adorable picture frames to make a Yeti Family Christmas homage ... since the background of the wrapping paper was red, I used one of my *solid* red/blue Gel Press prints for my card base.  A few sticker sentiments and a pearl for little girl yeti's flower in her hair finish the design."

Lauren says, "My friend Barb sent me a very pretty present wrapped in beautiful matte giftwrap which had these snow-dusted evergreens on it, and the minute I saw it, I started figuring out how to get the paper off without tearing or wrinkling it! There was a pretty big crease at the left edge, which I decided to cover with collagey bits. These include a serendipitous scrap from a French language children's book which says "The Christmas Tree"; some beautifully patina-ed sheet music and some of the amazing 1957 Christmas Seals my mom found at a thrift shop. The red glitter mat is another piece of careful unwrapping."

And to start our 10th year with a bang, there will be a fun little prize for one lucky participant ... the oh-so-adorable Say What Christmas Critters Stamp Set from Lawn Fawn with the set of coordinating dies.
