Twelve Days of Christmas

This week's Jingle Belles Prompt has multiple options. As the song the Twelve Days of Christmas suggests, you can create a holiday card for your *True Love* or for any other extra-special person in your life.

An alternative is to create a holiday card with a heart (or hearts) on it.

And your final choice is to create a holiday card that references any aspect of the song *The Twelve Days of Christmas*. Just make sure you let us know which option (or options) you're choosing for your design.

Here's how we were inspired:

Stephanie says, "I combined the first amd second option to make a true love card & include some hearts.  I started with a Red Metallic Shimmer Gel Press Print that I then embossed with a heart embossing folder.  I applied direct-to-paper red ink to bring out the heart pattern.  Next I stamped, colored, and detail cut two adorable skating polar bears from Impression Obsession Cool Yule.  I die cut a stitched landscape & stamped the sentiment and die cut with a Spellbinders Tag That! Die.  The design & colors of my card were inspired by the Inspiration Photo at Just Us Girls Challenge."

Lauren says, "I also employed two out of three, by putting "Four Calling Birds" inside a heart! My "calling birds" are Eyelet Outlet CardinalCardinal Profile and Female Cardinal Brads. Now, I'm not sure exactly what type of birds were intended by the carol, but Cardinals are not really known for their song... unless you count some serious squawking when another bird gets too close to something they consider theirs lol; but they look pretty cute, don't they? I've added some diecut greens and placed my heart frame on a background of vintage sheet music set off with a bit of Wide Brick Washi and a scattering of tiny red Star Sequins."

And one lucky participant will receive the Impression Obsession Christmas Words Stamp Set.

Yum and Yummier

Such a delicious buffet of sweet treat cards in the Jingle Belles gallery, it's hard to just choose three to feature; but here are a few that especially made our mouths water!

...stamped and colored LOTS of tiny tasty treats, arranged them over a cluster of shimmery holiday greens, and found the perfect sentiment!

...started with the cutest gingerbread men EVER and proves that if you have the perfect focal point, you don't need very much else to make a sweeeeeeet CAS card!

...incorporated an awesome sketch, chose the cutest treats imaginable, and has blown us away with her coloring skills!

♥♥♥

Many thanks to everyone who played along, we loved seeing every single card! We'll be back at midnight with a brand new prompt we hope will have you singing along!

Christmas Sweets & Treats

This week we're still *staying fit* by creating cards with no calories featuring Christmas Candy, Cookies, Cake and other sweet holiday treats.

Here are our no calorie creations:

Lauren says, "In December, I treated myself to Carta Bella's "Christmas Cheer" collection at Paper Anthology and I especially love the entire page of "Just for You Tags" in the set. For this card, I trimmed five of my favorite food-related tags, mounted them on some coordinating gingham and then a background of older Authentique holiday paper that matches perfectly, and called it a day."

Stephanie says, "This week's card features that classic holiday candy - the candy cane.  I found a pieces of ephemera that coordinated with the scrap of background paper.  The sentiment is from The Ink Blot Shop Mixed Holiday Greetings."

Getting Fit for 2022

Since the New Year often brings resolutions to eat less sugar and get fit, and paper sweets have no calories, we're asking you to add candy, cookies, cake or any other favorite holiday sweet to your cards for the next Jingle Belles prompt.

Here's how we got sweet this week:

Stephanie Says, "I couldn't resist featuring all of those vintage holiday goodies found in the Stamperia Classic Christmas.  I cut out the two circles and sentiment from papers in the collection (sponging ink on the edges) and attached them using the sketch from Fusion Card Challenge.  The paper on the slimline card base reminded me of the vintage cookbooks in my Grandma's kitchen that I would read like novels."

Lauren says, "I've adorned an older Doodlebug gingerbread house sticker with a couple of candy-centric Eyelet Outlet brads and a Pearl Swirl above the chimney. The cool paper-strip background is based on an absolutely ancient, totally brilliant Card Maps sketch that I discovered lurking in my inspiration file."

Santa's Bounty

Well it seems that ALL of us Jingle Belles must've been especially good this year, for Santa to have brought us so many cool goodies! Here are a few cards that especially caught our eye:

Deena of A Deena Card

...made three (you should hop over and see the third one!) fabulous, fun cards with adorable new stamps, foiling dies and starry watercolours!

Elizabeth Stewart of Paper Sweetness

...used an expecially cool new slimline boxcard die set to make an awesome pop up which is as clever as it is beautiful!

Vicky of Crafting Clare's Paper Moments

...stamped and embossed her elegant sentiment right on top of the gorgeous gifted plaid patterned paper, and it's given us a "WHY didn't WE think of that?" sort of moment!

♥♥♥

Many thanks to everyone who played along, we're happy to see so many regulars returing, and to make some new friends as well! We hope you'll enjoy the challenges... we KNOW you'll love getting a jump on next December's hectic activity! We'll be back at midnight with a brand new prompt we think is pretty sweet! ♥

Thank You Santa

We're still making cards with those new crafting products that Santa left under the tree.  Remember, you have until Wednesday, January 12th at 6pm EST to link-up your creations, in the post directly below this one.

Here's what new goodies we used this week:

Lauren says, "This week's card is admittedly untraditional (except in Hawaii, lol!) but having received not one but TWO awesome sets of tropical flowers and foliage from Santa Stephanie, I literally could not wait to use them... so I didn't! I cut all of the pieces from Lawn Fawn's Happy Hibiscus and Tropical Leaves out of colorful patterned paper scraps; fashioned an appropriately sentiment from stickers and attached everything to my bold and beautiful A9 card."

Stephanie says, "My card features three new Lawn Fawn products Santa brought for my stash.  The Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflake Backdrop die was cut into silver metallic cardstock.  Next I used the Giant Let It Snow Die from Green Glitter Cardstock (that I aslo used to frame my snowflake panel).  I finished with one of the cute little bunnies from Lawn Fawn Snow Day.  I finished with a bit of marker coloring and a glittery enamel dot for his bunny tail."

What Did Santa Bring You?

Hello and Happy New Year! We're so pleased you've stopped by on the first day of our TWELFTH Jingle Belles season!

Once again, we'll be publishing a new card prompt every other Friday, with examples from both Stephanie and Lauren; then you'll have ten days or so to join in. If, like us, you make one card per week, by December first (or thereabouts) we'll each have nearly fifty unique, handmade cards. No need to make a commitment or participate every single week, just jump in when you can and have fun along with us; but remember the more cards you make now, the less you'll have to do in December!

So let's get started! First up, we KNOW you've got some brand new goodies you're dying to use, so break out those gifties (whether they came from Santa OR you treated yourself in the pre- or post-holiday sales!) and use them to make your first holiday card of 2022! Be sure to mention what you've used, so we can be suitably jealous (and you never know, perhaps enabled to purchase ourselves)!

Here's what we made this week:

Stephanie says, "Santa brought me the Create-in-Quads Mistletoe Stencils from Taylored Expressions.  It is so fun to use one set of stencils and end-up with four coordinated but different cards.  I paired them with different Taylored Expressions Sentiments & even some Eyelet Outlet Holiday Flower Bling."

Lauren says, "Stephanie gave me a beautiful Spellbinders' Woodland Wreath Die Set which I've used to frame up some paper and stickers from Photoplay's Christmas Cheer line, to which I treated myself at Paper Anthology in December. I filled in with an older plaid from Photoplay, some gorgeously realistic Prima Holly Leaves and a scattering of round red Eyelet Outlet Sequins."
