Snow Far, Snow Good!

We're still celebrating the flaky white stuff here at Jingle Belles. There's an argument that the best place for *SNOW* is on holiday greetings, in the middle of summer, where it never impedes driving or requires one to wield a shovel for hours at a time, lol. So let's get right to the cards we made this week:

Stephanie says, "This sweet little snowman tag is the focal point of my card this week.  All I had to add was some navy seam binding and an epoxy dots for the pom pom on his hat."

Lauren says, "I've been fascinated by negative space lately, so this is not the first (or last, lol!) card I've made by punching out some little windows and backing them with... something. In this case it's a sparkly white landscape created with Penny Black's Trees and Hills die, in the aperture created with a circle punch through this gorgeous Solitude paper from Authentique. To embellish I added some fab Eyelet Outlet Snowflake Brads and placed a diecut sentiment on a banner made with pretty grey and white Snowflake Washi Tape... et voila!"

Snow Much Fun!

As you may have deduced from the title, we're celebrating *SNOW* this fortnight! So break out your snowmen (and women!) snowflakes, snowy landscapes, or anything else that features the frosty white stuff and get creative!

Here's what we made this week:

Lauren says, "This sweet snowman from Prima's "Santa Baby" chipboard has been calling to me since I acquired him last December at my lss, Paper Anthology. Finally I found the *perfect* home for him on this ancient piece of sheet-music inspired patterned paper from October Afternoon. All I needed to finish up were a few mats, a couple of diecuts and some awesome Eyelet Outlet Snowflake Brads!"

Stephanie says, "I love using non-traditional color combinations for my holiday cards ... so I featured MFT Color Challenge with some Berry Pink Snowflakes (stamped altogether using my MISTI).  I finished with the coordinating die cut snowflakes and some Eyelet Outlet Bling."

Link up your own snow-centric masterpiece(s) by 6pm (EST) on Wednesday, July 3rd. Keyword for galleries and Flickr JB:19:13. ♥

Jolly Old St. Nick

We're still celebrating Santa Claus, as well as all of the other awesome residents of the North Pole: Mrs. Claus, reindeer, elves, happy polar bears... maybe even a Yeti? Here's what we made this week:

Lauren says, "This week I built a tall card around this beautiful vintage-style Santa on a journal card from Authentique's "Jingle" collection. He didn't need much in the way of embellishment, so I contented myself with a few coordinating patterned paper mats, an ancient chipboard bauble sentiment and some Eyelet Outlet bling!"

Stephanie says, "A Doodle Pop Santa for me this week together with his Doodle Pop Mouse friend.  Love these colors for Christmas ... added a row of bling & sticker sentiment using the layout from Sketch Saturday."

Remember, one lucky participant will get the pack of Christmas goodies mailed their way.  Please come join our holiday fun.

Santa Baby

This time we're celebrating Santa Claus ... St. Nick ... the Jolly old Guy himself ... or you might choose to feature Mrs. Claus, the Elves, Reindeer or even our favorite, a Yeti ... anyone who might be living at the North Pole.

Here are the creatures we featured:

Stephanie says, "I had never paper pieced this cute little Santa Die from the Sizzix Side Order Collection ... it included the tiny embossing folder & the noel word die cut, so I combined them all with some wood grain cardstock."

Lauren says, "There are sooooooo many great versions of Santa Claus out there in the big wide papercrafting world, but for sheer cuteness and adorability, I think it's hard to beat Doodlebug Design. my card is about 90% D-bug products, including most of the papers and all the sweet stickers. I combined the latter in a little rooftop scene, and placed them on a little tag, thanks to this week's awesome sketch (#566) from Sketch Saturday."

One lucky participant for this prompt will receive a fun little prize package - Die-Versions Winter Glob Die Cut; Stitched Felt Embellishments and a Pocketful of Cheer Paper Pumpkin Kit that makes 8 cards.

Link your card(s) featuring your favorite North Pole Resident(s) right here, before 6pm (EST) on Wednesday, June 19th. Keyword for galleries and Flickr is JB:19:12.

The Write Stuff

It turns out there is no *bad* way to get texty at the holidays... which made it extra hard for us to just choose a few type-centric cards to feature. We highly recommend a scroll through the readers' gallery to see all the gorgeous cards. Meanwhile here are a couple of faves:

...capitalized on the envelope-like shape of a recent card sketch, by adding text paper, embossing and the sweet stocking to her clever card!

...strategically cut her text paper to make the perfect window for those beautifully glittery trees and super-fun baking paper snow!

...proves that CAS cards can be loaded with texture and interest, by virtue of embossing, tiny gems, and the most elegant sentiment ever!

♥♥♥

We'll be back at midnight with a brand new prompt we hope won't have you looking for an Escape Claus! ;)
